Debbie Gray Professional Development Award 

In an effort to encourage and support HRASM member's professional development, HRASM offers financial reimbursements to help defray the cost of Human Resource Development (HRD) activities.

Two (2) recipients, chosen by random draw, will each receive up to $500 towards the cost of HR certification or recertification, education, training, seminars, conferences, membership and/or professional development publications related to an HRD activity. Education costs include tuition, registration, books, and lab fees. Online HRD-related credit courses also qualify for assistance. All HRD activities must occur during the award year.

Funds are awarded after training or HRD activities have concluded (Grade C or higher where applicable), and proof of attendance and receipts for fees paid have been submitted to HRASM. Travel costs, lodging, meals, incidentals, etc., are not reimbursable.

ELIGIBILITY:  Applicants must: 1) be a HRASM member in good standing; 2) have attended at least two HRASM trainings/events in the prior 12 months; and 3) have completed a minimum of four hours volunteer service with HRASM in the prior 12 months. Volunteer opportunities are plentiful and include assisting with meetings or other chapter events, representing HRASM at networking events, serving on the Board or Board committee, etc.

APPLICATION PROCESS:  See application link below. Applicants must provide information on: 1) the purpose of the HRD activity, 2) where the HRD activity will be held, and 3) when the HRD activity will occur.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  The deadline is December 31st each year. Submission of an application attests that applicants understand and agree to comply with program rules and requirements.

NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS:  The random drawing will be held at the first general meeting each year. Applicants must be present to win. The HRASM membership will be notified via social media, email, the next general meeting and/or on our website.

CHANGE IN HRD ACTIVITY:  Please notify HRASM prior to beginning an activity if the intended activity changes in any manner. Failure to do so may result in denial of reimbursement and forfeiture of funds. To provide notice, email hrasmsomd@yahoo.com with “Professional Development Award Change” as the subject.

REIMBURSEMENT PROCESS:  Reimbursements are processed after HRD activities are successfully completed, and receipts with proof of attendance/payment have been submitted. Awardees are encouraged to utilize the entire $500 award. Unused monies are forfeited and remain in HRASM’s treasury. December 1st of the award year is the deadline to submit required documentation.
