Topic: When "Market" Stops Making Sense: Rethinking Benchmarking in a Distorted Labor Economy
Three Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize the forces distorting today’s labor market - Identify key trends such as remote work, wage volatility, and shifting job design that are making traditional compensation benchmarks less reliable.
2. Evaluate the risks of relying too heavily on market data - Understand how rigid benchmarking practices can contribute to pay compression, inequities, and misaligned compensation strategies.
3. Apply a more strategic approach to compensation benchmarking - Learn how to combine market data with internal equity, organizational strategy, and workforce priorities to develop more balanced and sustainable pay decisions.
