Oregon OSHA’s Consultation and Voluntary Recognition programs improves workplace safety and helps you avoid citations. Consultation manager Greig Lowell will provide the latest news from Oregon OSHA, and explain how these free and confidential services can benefit employers.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

·  Differentiate between Oregon OSHA's enforcement role and its consultation services.

·  Identify resources and voluntary programs available through Oregon OSHA that help employers proactively improve workplace safety and health.

·  Recognize recent updates from Oregon OSHA that may impact employers and determine practical next steps for maintaining compliance.

·  Evaluate how partnering with Oregon OSHA's consultation resources can help reduce workplace injuries, minimize regulatory risk, and support continuous safety improvement.

Meet our Speaker: Greig Lowell, Oregon OSHA Statewide Consultation Manager

Greig Lowell is the Statewide Consultation and Outreach Manager for Oregon OSHA. He oversees all consultation program activities, including the 6 field offices, and Oregon OSHA’s public education. Prior to this, he was the Policy Manager for Oregon OSHA. Previously, he spent 12 years as a member of the Workers’ Compensation Board. He has worked as a claims supervisor and risk manager, and served as President of the Oregon Self-Insurers Association. He has been an instructor in workers’ compensation for the Insurance Education Association and Lane Community College. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in Pleasant Hill, Oregon.  

 

Brandon is the founder of Byars Group, specializing in empowering organizations to strengthen leadership, enhance collaboration, and build inclusive, high-performing teams through personality science and talent development strategies.

A dynamic speaker and leader, Brandon is known for challenging the status quo and inspiring teams to perform at a higher level.

His experience includes senior leadership roles within large, complex healthcare organizations including Providence, Kaiser Permanente, and UnitedHealthcare where he led talent acquisition, training, and employee engagement initiatives.

Brandon believes that when leaders intentionally create environments where people feel understood, trusted, and valued, stronger cultures, stronger teams, and stronger business results naturally follow.

Brandon is a dedicated youth grief camp counselor and serves on the boards of Oregon Pride in Business and the Foster Area Business Association. He is also the emeritus Chair of the University of Montana Alumni Association Board of Directors.

He holds a BA in Organizational Communications and Marketing from the University of Montana and is a Certified Personalysis Practitioner.

Brandon combines practical leadership experience with deep insight into personality dynamics to create engaging experiences that challenge perspectives, strengthen teams, and inspire action.

Brandon lives in Portland, Oregon, with his husband George, and their busy-body Australian Cattle Dog mix, Truman.
