SOUTHEAST IOWA SHRM CHAPTER #507 MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

The SEIA SHRM meeting was held on May 13th, 2026, via Teams and In-Person. President- Courtney Ferree, welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. 

Roll Call: Allison Monohon, Courtney Ferree, Melissa Hunt, Kristina Jones, Alison Blommers, Julie Belger, Erin Hogan, Charity Noe, Sofia Waters

Secretary’s Report

·         A motion was made to approve the secretary’s report as presented by Allison Monohon and supported by Courtney Ferree; motion carried 

Treasurer’s Report

·         Current account balance (05/08/2026) - $15,660.68.

·         A motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report by Melissa Hunt and supported by Sofia Waters; motion carried 

Membership

·         Current membership – 45 members. Welcome new member, Brianna Wolf. If you have anyone you would like to recommend to the Chapter, please do so.

Certification 

  • In person and Virtual Options available
  • Testing Window: – 05/01/26 – 7/15/26, Standard Applications accepted from 03/31/2026 – 05/29/2026. Second testing window is 12/01/2026-02/15/2027.
  •  SHRM member costs $420 for Earlybird. SHRM member costs $495 for Standard.

  • Spring Event is on Thursday, May 21st from 1pm-3pm at the Trio. Please RSVP to Allison Monohon at amonohon@mahaskahealth.org

Communications 

  • If anyone has questions to ask the group or need feedback on a topic, they can send the question to mhunt@mahaskahealth.org and she will send it out to the member group.
  • Iowa SHRM Conference. The dates are October 7th-9th in Coralville. Registration is now open.
  • New Email address: southeastiashrm@gmail.com

Workforce Readiness/College Relations

  • Sofia is looking into an event in Ames for students.
  • If you know of other events Sofia can attend, please reach out.
