SOUTHEAST IOWA SHRM CHAPTER #507 MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

The SEIA SHRM meeting was held on September 9th, 2026, via Teams. President Elect- Allison Monohon, welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. 

Roll Call: Allison Monohon, Courtney Ferree, Melissa Hunt, Jolyn Hartson, Lela DeVries, Julie Palm, Kristina Jones, Alissa Ward, Benjamin Hampton

Secretary’s Report

·         A motion was made to approve the secretary’s report as presented by Jolyn Harston and supported by Kristina Jones; motion carried 

Treasurer’s Report

·         Current account balance (09/04/2026) - $14,796.71.

·         A motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report by Melissa Hunt and supported by Jolyn Hartson; motion carried 

Membership

·         Current membership – 42 members.

·         Welcome new members: Alissa Ward & Benjamin Hampton

·         If you have anyone you would like to recommend to the Chapter, please do so.

Certification 

  • In person and Virtual Options available
  • Testing Window: –12/01/2026-02/15/2027. Can apply now until 12/24/2026.
  • SHRM member costs $420 for Earlybird. SHRM member costs $495 for Standard.
  • Opportunity to attend a class the morning of Wednesday October 7th, before the SHRM Conference kicks off.

Communications 

  • If anyone has questions to ask the group or need feedback on a topic, they can send the question to mhunt@mahaskahealth.org and she will send it out to the member group.
  • Iowa SHRM Conference. The dates are October 7th-9th in Coralville. Registration is now open.

Workforce Readiness/College Relations

  • Nothing to report

  • No meeting in October due to Iowa SHRM Conference.
