Looking for an opportunity to grow your skills, expand your professional network, and make an impact in our local HR community? Serving on the Southwest Montana SHRM Board could be your next step.

Our chapter is shaped by the people who step up, bring new ideas, and share their perspectives—and we’re excited to see who might be part of what comes next! We’re now seeking candidates for several positions on our 2027 Board of Directors, and we hope to hear from both familiar faces and professionals who may be considering board service for the very first time.

Board service is an opportunity to develop leadership and collaboration skills, build meaningful relationships with professionals across our community, and have a voice in the future of Southwest Montana SHRM. Each open position serves a two-year term.

And you don’t need to be an experienced HR leader—or even have “HR” in your job title—to get involved. We especially encourage early-career professionals and those interested in human resources, people and culture, talent development, or the employee experience to consider serving.

You don’t need previous board experience to make a difference. You might be a great fit if you want to:

  • Develop your leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Expand your professional network.
  • Become more connected to Southwest Montana’s HR and business community.
  • Contribute your ideas, strengths, and perspective.
  • Help shape what’s next for our chapter.

Board service is a chance to learn while contributing. You’ll work alongside professionals with different backgrounds and levels of experience, building skills and relationships that can support your own professional growth while making a difference in our chapter.

Curious? Let’s Talk.

You don’t need to know which position is right for you before reaching out—and expressing interest doesn’t commit you to serving. It just means you're ready to have a conversation and learn more.
