Substance use disorder and recovery affect workplaces in ways that HR professionals and organizational leaders may not always see or know how to address. Recovery Friendly Workplaces offer a practical approach to creating supportive, stigma-free environments where employees impacted by substance use disorder can succeed—and where recovery is recognized as a strength.
Join Shannan Sproull, Executive Director of Recovery Friendly Montana, for an introduction to the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative and what it can mean for Montana employers. Shannan will explore substance use disorder and recovery in the workplace, the impact of stigma, and how supportive workplace practices can contribute to employee wellness, retention, productivity, and healthier communities.
Attendees will learn:
- The background and purpose of the Recovery Friendly Workplace movement
- Key concepts related to substance use disorder and recovery
- Why reducing stigma around substance use disorder and recovery matters in the workplace
- How employers can support employees while maintaining a healthy, productive workplace
- How organizations can become a Recovery Friendly Workplace in Montana
