Greetings SHRM North Central Washington (NCW) Members,
Spring is in the air and your SHRM North Central Washington Board has been hard at work in 2026. A few Board members just returned from the WA State SHRM Conference in Bellevue and heard from some amazing speakers. We have a renewed energy and are brainstorming how to bring engaging speakers and content to our local members.
What’s New?
1. New SHRM NCW Brand - In our Q1 message, we announced our name change but did you notice our new SHRM NCW brand at the top of this quarter’s newsletter? This aligns our chapter brand more closely with national SHRM and we are excited to gain new members in our region because of the SHRM brand recognition. You can find our new brand debuting soon on our Facebook and LinkedIn social media pages in the coming weeks.
2. New Website – We are excited to announce the launch of the new SHRM North Central Washington website – a modern hub designed to support HR professionals and business leaders across North Central Washington. This site brings together the tools and connections that help our community thrive. Explore the new platform and see how SHRM NCW can support your HR journey and strengthen your organization.
3. Email Address – You can’t launch a new name without also launching a new email address so we have published a new email address for our members to reach us. Please contact your board using ncwshrm@gmail.com for any questions, program topics, or general inquiries you have.
4. Follow Us - If you don’t currently follow us or want to check out our new brand and/or website, links are provided below – give us a follow or bookmark our new site. This is where you can find information on our programs, chapter announcements and job posting opportunities in the community.

State Programs
HR Leaders of Tomorrow- The “HR Leaders of Tomorrow (HRLT) 2026 Conference” is being held at Central Washington University on April 17-18, 2026. This conference is sponsored by the Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA) and the SHRM State Councils of Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The conference will feature corporate HR tours, keynote addresses by recognized experts in the field, career-building activities, and concurrent sessions focused on contemporary HR topics. It will also feature fun activities in the Ellensburg area. For students at any stage in their education, as well as recent graduates, this multi-state regional event won’t be one to miss. Register now!
We Need to Hear From You!
Your SHRM NCW board is here for you but we want to know what you need or what requests you have from your local SHRM chapter. Whether you have ideas for programs or you want to network with colleagues at a SHRM sponsored event – we need to hear from you. While I know that surveys can be painful, this is your chance to be heard. Complete our feedback survey by April 24 and your name will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card!
JOIN OUR BOARD!
If you’ve been thinking about expanding your involvement in SHRM NCW, now is the time. We are looking for a new Membership Director as well as a Certification Director to take over for the remainder of the year. We wish Annemarie the best as she is relocating out of state with her husband. If you are interested, please touch base with me and we can discuss minimum, easily manageable, duties. Time commitment is an average of 2-5 hours per month depending on your availability and interests. Being a member of the SHRM NCW board comes with great honor and reward. We would LOVE to have you join us! Opportunities are endless for career development, fun, networking, colleague support and fulfillment in volunteerism.
