VitalCog

With Kirby Lemon

VitalCog trains organizations to proactively address the early warning signs of suicide in the workplace. Just as organizations have realized they can help reduce heart disease by encouraging exercise, they can also reduce suicide by promoting mental health and encouraging early identification and intervention. This training will educate and equip businesses with tools to address mental health and suicide concerns within the workplace.

When? August 26th
Time? 11am-1:00pm
Where? VIRTUAL

Kirby Lemon serves as the Training and Events Coordinator (CPS II) at SpeakUp ReachOut, the Suicide Prevention Coalition of the Eagle Valley, whose mission is to prevent suicide through education, training, and hope.
After moving to Eagle County in 2018, Kirby's first mental health training was the Youth Mental Health First Aid course through SpeakUp ReachOut, which taught her about the warning signs for mental health difficulties and suicide. That experience proved invaluable, and the resources provided by SpeakUp ReachOut gave her options and hope while walking through a mental health crisis with a loved one — ultimately leading her to join the organization.

Today, Kirby works with SpeakUp ReachOut to support those struggling with mental health, suicidal thoughts, or the loss of a loved one. In her role, she coordinates training programs and events, including the VitalCog: Suicide Prevention for the Workplace training that she will be facilitating for us today.
