About Us
The Northeast South Dakota Society for Human Resource Management (NESD SHRM) is the premier professional association for human resource professionals in the Watertown, South Dakota, area. As an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management, the NESD SHRM’s mission is to advance the Human Resource profession by providing education opportunities, legislative updates, informative programs, and a network to facilitate ideas, as well as promoting and encouraging membership and professional development through participation in our organization.

Hello NESD SHRM Members!
I am honored and excited to step into the role of President for NESD SHRM in 2026! It is truly a privilege to serve such an engaged, thoughtful, and people-centered HR community, and I’m looking forward to the year ahead with great enthusiasm.
I also want to take a moment to recognize our incredible NESD SHRM Board. This group brings diverse experience, thoughtful leadership, and a genuine commitment to serving our members. I’m grateful for their partnership and excited about what we’ll accomplish together this year.

Here’s what you can expect from NESD SHRM in 2026:
- Meetings: We will continue to meet monthly. If you are a current member, I will be sending out save the dates for February and April shortly and then once additional ones are scheduled you will receive them as well. We understand our calendars can fill up quickly but want to make sure that given the advance notice, you can prioritize your own growth by blocking ahead of time.
- Format: Our meetings will include a mix of in-person and Microsoft Teams options to support flexibility and accessibility.
- Programming: Educational sessions, networking opportunities, and practical HR-focused discussions designed to support you in your day-to-day work.

The SDSHRM Council unifies 7 individual SD SHRM affiliated chapters to advance the HR profession. They partner with over 400 volunteers in South Dakota to represent our state at a regional and national level.
