Scholarship Amount

Eastern Iowa SHRM is pleased to announce they are opening this scholarship application to all students who meet the criteria below. Two applicants will be selected to receive $750 each to be used in furthering their education and commitment to the Human Resources field!

Purpose

To encourage and assist qualified students pursuing post-secondary education in Human Resources or other Human Resources-related fields.

Terms

This scholarship is for the 2026-2027 School year. The Eastern Iowa SHRM Board reserves the right to reject any application for any reason.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student for the 2026 - 2027 academic year at an accredited college and a declared major in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, or related field.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Selection Criteria

  • Evidence of scholastic attitude, good character, leadership qualities, and well-rounded personal development.

  • Grade point average.
  • Recommendation letter from instructor, supervisor, or SHRM club advisor/member.

Requirements

  • Submit a completed and signed application by May 1, 2026.
  • An essay of 500 words or less detailing your consideration for this award.
  • Provide a current resume.
  • A Letter of recommendation from peers, instructors, and/or employers.
  • A list of any scholastic distinctions or honors.
  • Volunteer activities; human resources internships and/or SHRM club involvement; employment.
