Event Description:
Burnout is no longer an individual issue—it’s an organizational risk. In today’s high-demand, always-on work environments, employees are experiencing increasing levels of stress, disengagement, and emotional exhaustion. Left unaddressed, burnout impacts productivity, retention, workplace culture, and overall organizational performance.

Join SHRM Guam on May 20th, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Dusit Thani Resort as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness by discussing "Burnout Prevention – Well-Beings Works Better." This session reframes the conversation—shifting from reactive wellness efforts to proactive, people-centered strategies that prioritize sustainable performance and human well-being as business imperatives.

For this session, we are excited to welcome back Commander Dr. Nnema Lewis, Associate Director of Mental Health for the US Navy.

Why You should Attend:

This session is designed for leaders and HR professionals who are ready to move beyond surface-level wellness initiatives and implement meaningful, measurable change.

Attendees will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of what burnout really is—and what it isn’t
  • Learn how to identify early warning signs across teams and leadership levels
  • Explore the direct connection between employee well-being, engagement, and organizational success
  • Walk away with practical strategies to build healthier, more resilient workplaces

This is not about adding more to your plate—it’s about leading differently so your people can perform at their best without sacrificing their well-being.

What HR Professionals Will Learn:

HR leaders will leave equipped to

  • Recognize systemic drivers of burnout (workload, culture, leadership gaps—not just individual resilience)
  • Design proactive burnout prevention strategies that align with business goals
  • Integrate well-being into organizational culture, not just standalone programs
  • Support leaders in creating psychologically safe, sustainable teams
  • Measure the impact of well-being initiatives on retention, engagement, and performance.
