Welcome to your monthly SHAW AEM Quick Tip!

Each month, we share practical guidance to help you make the most of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Whether you’re a seasoned administrator or recently migrated to your new site, these tips are designed to streamline your workflow, enhance site management, and support your ongoing success.

If you have questions or need additional support, please refer to the AEM documentation in the Training Center or reach out to our team through the Service Desk.

Uploading assets to the DAM?

Follow these best practices to keep your assets organized and accessible:

Filename Guidelines

  • Use only lowercase letters
  • Replace spaces with dashes (e.g., product-image-banner.png)
  • No special characters (letters, numbers, and dashes only)
  • No spaces allowed

Organize with Folders

  • Create logical folder structures to group related assets.
    For example:
    • Board Photos
    • Event Brochures
    • Marketing Materials
  • Use consistent, descriptive folder names to make finding assets easy for everyone.

After Uploading

  1. Open asset properties to add a descriptive title and summary.
  2. Quick Publish to make your asset available for use.

Why it matters

Proper filenames and organized folders prevent upload errors and make assets easy to find and manage.
